Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I visit Kwon Dental?
In keeping with recommended standards set forth by the American Dental Association, we encourage patients to visit our office at least two times each year. These six month checkups and teeth cleanings allow patients to avoid most major dental health issues, and keep their smiles relatively whole and healthy.
What is periodontal disease?
Periodontal disease, often referred to as gum disease, occurs when plaque and tartar buildup at the gum line irritates soft tissue causing sores, and inflammation. Left untreated, gums and supportive bone tissue are diminished leading to dental drift or tooth loss. Contact us right away if you feel you may be experiencing gum disease.
Can I call you if I have an emergency?
Absolutely. We welcome patients experiencing dental emergencies, and do our utmost to provide same day emergency appointments.
Am I too old for orthodontics?
Never. We believe patients are never too old to get the smile of their dreams. If you’re worried about how the appearance of traditional braces will impact your professional image, we offer Invisalign clear, plastic orthodontics.
How do I know if I need a root canal?
The only way to know for sure is to schedule an appointment with our team, but some of the most common warning signs of root canal infection include severe tooth ache, sensitivity to temperature changes, dental discoloration, and infection or inflammation in the surrounding gum tissue.
What is CEREC?
CEREC literally stands for chairside economical restoration of esthetic ceramics, but simply put, that means CEREC is a system that allows our team to design, craft, and place a custom, high-quality, ceramic dental restoration all in just one visit.
